Body and Food Autobiography
The Adult Attachment Interview can provide important information about the events and patterns in our early development that influence our current relationship. Dr. Kristen Allott developed a similar interview to bring understanding around how we view our relationship to food and to our bodies.
Early childhood experiences influence our present day relationships with people in our lives. Our early childhood relationships with food as well as our bodies can shape who we are today in regard to what we eat and don’t eat, if we exercise, how we view our body shape, the feelings we have towards our physical bodies, and how we care for ourselves. Working through the Body and Food Autobiography can provide insight into long-held patterns around food and how we care for our body.
